About Our Founder

“Gaise Baba” – Akinade Ibuoye – is a polymath, a culture architect and an award-winning Afro-fusion Artiste who performs in Yoruba, English and the West African Lingo – Pidgin. Gaise Baba plays socially conscious Afro-fusion music, infusing the catchy street vibes of Afrobeat with samplings of Jazz, African traditional music, Spoken word and other eclectic genres. He has a first degree in Economics, and holds a Diploma in Music Business from Berklee College of music.

Beyond writing, recording and performing music, Gaise Baba is the founder of a number of social impact culture-exchange platforms that serve young people in Nigeria and beyond. He founded 464 Projects and the LightOut High School Initiative. He is also the founder of ARAMANDA – a culture shaping Afro-Urban Music and Arts Festival that connects with young, social, digitally savvy and trendy Gen Z & Millennial Africans who love music, dance, art, and are looking to experience alternative sounds, genres and expressions. In December 2020, Gaise Baba founded Lounge464, his own base where he shares his music, art and essence with his growing audience and community. With live, rustic, Afro Fusion music and insightful conversations, Lounge464 has held 13 times across Lagos, Abuja and Ibadan, and some editions streamed globally via Stagelt.com.
